Caliburger at Century City Mall Set to Open on February 17

Caliburger is set to open its first restaurant in the Philippines on February 17. Located at Century City Mall in Makati, Caliburger reportedly has plans to open additional branches in Timog and Boracay, provided this initial foray into the Filipino market proves successful.

The burger joint’s scheduled opening  has moved and shifted a couple of times, with some reports pegging last December, and others January earlier this year, as possible opening dates. To add to the confusion, Caliburger has hosted several pre-launch events inside the completed branch with celebrities who then shared the pictures they took on their respective social media accounts. This led some people to misconstrue the photos as proof that the restaurant has officially opened, only to be left disappointed once they actually pay the site a visit.

Caliburger offers burgers reminiscent of cult-favorite In-N-Out’s, but tweaked to be, some say, better than the original version. With the success of the latter’s recent one day Pop-Up Store, there’s sure to be a lot of people ready and willing to test the veracity of Caliburger’s claims. As soon as the branch officially open its doors to paying customers, you can be sure that Pepper will be there as well to give it our own review.

Are you looking forward to Caliburger’s first Philippine branch? Do you think it’ll live up to the hype? What other American burger joints do you wish would finally set up shop here in Manila?  Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

  1. I want to THE COUNTER someday open here in Manila. Project Burger tried to imitate it but still missing some components that I liked about The Counter. Another popular burger joint that I worked in when I lived in Northern Cali is Nation’s Giant Hamburger. Very popular until In-N-Out conquered Northern California area.

  2. Coincidentally, that’s the same day as my birthday, which I will announce loudly and conspicuously when I visit in the hopes of the waiters being forced to sing me Happy Birthday.
