Air fryers aren't designed to "fry" anything with a wet batter, like these pancake mix-coated Oreos. But you can work around it by lining your air fryer basket with aluminum foil. This keeps your Oreos intact while preventing the excess batter from dripping out. Take note that the batter will pool around the cookies instead, which you can trim off or snack on after cooking.
Ingredients
- 1 package instant pancake mix
- 12 Oreos
- powdered sugar, for serving
Prepare air fryer: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil.
Batter Oreos: Prepare instant pancake mix according to package directions. Dip Oreos into the pancake batter, shake off any excess, and transfer to aluminum foil-lined basket. Make sure to arrange Oreos in a single layer with a small gaps in between. Don't stack them!
Air fry: Air fry Oreos for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through with tongs. Some pancake batter will pool around the cookies. This is okay! To serve, dust the finished Oreos with powdered sugar.
