Everybody loves bacon—it’s a near-universal truth. And if you want to throw a party or large get-together where everyone is happy, the path is simple: Give them bacon.

These bacon-wrapped cheesedogs will please kids and adults alike. CDO Idol Cheesedogs provide a pleasantly chubby bite; the creamy cheese bits that stud their interior add a welcome richness. When baked, the maple-mustard glaze, sticky-sweet with a bright flash of tang, forms a delicious shell around each package.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 10 pieces CDO Idol Cheesedog, Jumbo
  • 10 strips thin sliced bacon
1

Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F or 170°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

2

Make glaze: Combine maple syrup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, and chopped garlic in a saucepan or skillet over medium-low heat. Stir constantly with a heatproof spatula until sugar has fully dissolved and mixture is thick but loose—like a glaze. Remove from heat and set aside.

3

Assemble cheesedogs: Slice ends of each CDO Idol Cheesedog until you have straight-edged pieces about 2–2 ½ inches long. (Save ends for snacking or another recipe.)

Place a strip of bacon vertically on a chopping board, the long ends facing your left and right. Place one cheesedog on the end of the bacon closest to you. Wrap the tip of the bacon around the cheesedog, and roll all the way to the other end of the bacon. Pin the seam side down with a toothpick, securing the roll. Place roll on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining bacon and cheesedogs.

4

Glaze and bake: Using a silicone brush, brush each roll with the maple-mustard glaze until each piece is evenly coated. Transfer to the oven and bake until the bacon renders its fat and crisps up, 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
