With so much occupying the holidays, baking your own cake from scratch won’t be at the top of your list. But this seriously easy recipe comes together in just one hour, and needs only one bowl to mix all the ingredients together. What makes this different from typical chocolate cake recipes, is the addition of NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream in the batter; it guarantees fluffiness every time, so that you won’t have to worry about a cakey, dry crumb.

To finish it off, pour a two-ingredient white chocolate ganache over it, and use NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream to achieve a rich and velvety frosting texture.

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup black or regular cocoa powder
  • 2 cups NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ¼ cups hot water
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 ½ cups white chocolate chips

Make the Cake

1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper.

2

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder until well combined. Add 1 cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, eggs, hot water, and oil. Whisk until no streaks remain.

3

Pour the batter into the cake tin and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out with only a few moist crumbs, about 45-55 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before turning out onto a plate or cooking rack then letting cook completely.

Make the White Chocolate Ganache

4

Pour 1 cup NESTLÉ All Purpose cream into a measuring cup and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds or until hot.

5

Pour over the white chocolate chips then let sit for 5 minutes.

6

Stir the ganache until all the chocolate is melted, then let cool until thickened.

7

Pour ganache evenly over the cake, then serve.
