In times like these, it's handy to keep recipes for canned goods in your pocket. We've partnered with CDO Karne Norte to give you three Filipino favorite dishes that you can easily use Karne Norte in, and have it for more than just breakfast.
Whether it be for snack or for lunch, Filipinos love eating fries loaded with toppings. Take CDO Karne Norte and pile it on top of your favorite style of fries (we cut our own, but you can use whatever's readily available). The fine beef strands make it easy to pile on your potatoes.
Add as many toppings as you wish, but we recommend some dressing and fresh chili to go with the karne norte.
Ingredients
- 1 150g can CDO Karne Norte
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp oil
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp thousand island dressing or ketchup
- 1 sliced green chili
Prepare for baking: Preheat oven/toaster oven to 425°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Prepare fries: Cut potatoes into wedges about ¼-inch thick. Sprinkle the cut fries with cornstarch, tossing evenly to coat. Drizzle oil over the cornstarch-coated fries, tossing again to coat, then spread out onto prepared baking sheets in a single layer. To get crispy fries, make sure that the potato wedges do not overlap or touch.
Bake fries: Place fries in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping the fries halfway. Remove fries from oven and season with salt and pepper while hot.
Cook karne norte: While fries are in the oven, cook CDO Karne Norte in a pan over medium heat until cooked through. Set aside.
