K-Drama binge-watching and K-Pop groups like BTS had us craving Korean food during this pandemic. It could have been the perfect time to sample all the different food trends that we see online, yet most restaurants are still on limited seating capacity thanks to ever-changing restrictive quarantine classifications.

If you are like us, and want to bring these trends into your kitchen, then these easy food craze recipes are for you:

  • Spicy Cheesy Korean Ramen
  • Filipino Cheese Crinkles
  • Korean Cheese Garlic Bread

We partnered with Danes Cheese—yes, that Danes with the infamous mascot ads—whose cheese products are just as memorable.

Their four variants bring a lot to the table: sweet and creamy is perfect for Filipino desserts like ensaymada, bacon for American-style savory dishes, herb and garlic for your quick Italian fixes, and chili cheese to add a spicy kick.

Spicy Cheesy Korean Ramen

The past year, everything Korean has blown up, and food is one of the most popular imports from the peninsula. Easy to eat ramyun is one of them; every time one of our idols opens a packet on screen, we instantly crave one too. There are many ramen hacks on TikTok, but our favorite way is making a noodle bowl spicier and cheesier. Use grated and cubed Danes Chili Cheese to enhance the creaminess and spiciness of your favorite pack.

Makes 1–2 servings.

Spicy Korean Cheese Ramen

  • 1 package spicy ramen
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup Danes Chili Cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ¼ cup Danes Chili Cheese, cubed
1

Prepare spicy ramen according to package instructions. Over medium heat, stir heavy cream into to the ramen. Add grated Danes Chili Cheese, gochujang, and sesame oil. Stir until well combined, then transfer to a bowl. Top with cubed Danes Chili Cheese and serve.

Filipino Cheese Crinkles

There’s something so addicting about the sweet-salty combo of Filipino desserts: remember childhood staples like sugary ensaymada with cheese, and bibingka with the savory addition of salted egg.

Even the year’s past trends bank on that flavor: ube cheese pandesal, Lola Nena’s cheese donuts, for example.

Here’s our entry to that world: classic crinkles with a cheesy twist. Danes Sweet & Creamy is made for this recipe, which incorporates it into the dough, for an addicting soft and chewy dessert.

Makes 24 cookies.

Sweet & Creamy Cheese Crinkles

  • 1 ¼ cups white sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup Danes Sweet & Creamy Cheese, grated
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

2

Add white sugar and melted butter to a large bowl. Whisk until well combined and lighter in color and texture. Add eggs and beat until well incorporated. Sift flour and baking soda into the bowl, then add the grated Danes Sweet & Creamy Cheese. Fold mixture with a rubber spatula until just mixed and no streaks of flour remain, taking care not to overmix.

3

Scoop dough by the tablespoon and roll into balls. Roll dough in powdered sugar until fully coated. Place coated dough balls on a baking sheet, leaving about a 2-3 inch gap in between cookies—they will spread a lot when baked. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the cookies have cracked and set. Let cool in the tray before serving.

Korean Cheese Garlic Bread

One of last year’s trends combined two of everyone’s favorite quarantine obsessions: bread and Korean flavors. You’ve seen this Korean garlic cheese bread everywhere—now here’s a recipe to make it at home.

With a triple combo of dairy including Danes Herb & Garlic, this overloaded bun is the ideal snack for multiple streaming sessions of BTS’ Butter.

Makes 4 servings.

Korean Cheese Garlic Bread

  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ block Danes Herb & Garlic Cheese
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • chopped parsley or spring onions, for garnish
1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2

Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Set aside.

3

Add Danes Herb & Garlic Cheese, softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and dried parsley to the bowl of a food processor. Blitz until smooth and well combined.

4

Make three shallow slices on top of the hamburger buns, taking care not to slice all the way through, to create an asterisk-shaped opening on the buns.
